When Dining Out
Not everyone wants to be a shredded bodybuilder. Many of my in-home and online personal training clients are average everyday people who just want to live a healthier, more active lifestyle and lose a few pounds. This means that people will eat out once in a while. But it doesn’t mean that all bets should be off and anything goes. You can make better choices while dining out, so you won’t have to leave stuffed, tired and your spouse won’t be screaming at you cause you stinking up the car with noxious fumes lol
When your eating out try to make obvious sounds choices and stay away from fried foods. Nothing will make you feel crappier then deep fried or battered foods. Watch anything that is cooked in heavy creams also. If you go with some fish or chicken or beef ask if they prepair it with any sauces, if so ask for it on the side and dip your fork into it instead of pouring it all over and adding 900 calories to the meal lol also ask if they can go easy on the oil. Although olive oil is good for you and its an excellent source of “good fat” there is a difference between a tablespoon and half a cup.
Another way to create healthier choices when dining out is to eat the protein and vegetables first. This way you will be less likely to go crazy on bread or other carbs like rice or mashed potatoes.
The idea here is moderation. If you want some of the foods you enjoy when you dine out that’s fine go for it, but keep the portion size reasonable, watch out for hidden calories like creams, sauces and oils. Grab for the protein and vegetable sources first and either skip on the desert, share one or if possible get sherbet or fruit. It is important to enjoy life and savor the foods you love, but if you still have 20 or more pounds to lose it may be your best interest to heed my advice!!! no drop the damn carrot cake and go run down the block!!!! lol
